How many people can you accommodate?
We can take up to 4 people per boat for fishing, however, if you want a more technical experience we recommend 3 or less. For scalloping, we can accommodate up to 6 people per boat. If you have a larger group, we can accommodate by scheduling another boat.
Do we need a fishing license?
No, we provide the license for everyone in the group.
Do we need our own equipment?
We provide everything from rods and reels to bait and tackle. You may bring your own, but keep in mind that we provide high quality gear. I will not spend all day working on your equipment. If there are issues, I will hand you one of mine. We do provide scalloping gear from mask, snorkels, and fins, to bags and nets if needed, all equipment is sanitized after every use.
What will we catch?
The most common species we target are trout and redfish. During certain times of the year we may catch tripletail, cobia, shark, sheepshead, and more.
Can we keep what we catch?
You may keep any fish that is within the legal season, size, and bag limit. We do encourage the release of larger breeder fish, especially trout, to protect the future of our fishery.
Do you clean the catch?
We do clean your fish and package them for you. We do not clean scallops, but there are places in the area which offer that service for a small fee.
Can I bring alcohol and/or tobacco products?
Yes, you may bring alcohol. If at any point we feel your alcohol intake is causing a safety risk, we will return to the dock and you will be responsible for the full amount of the trip. Tobacco usage is allowed.
When is the best time to fish?
Although we catch fish all year, there are times that are better than others. Mid October thru mid May is the best time to fish. My favorite months are mid March thru mid May and mid October thru mid January for trout and redfish. June, July, and August is the best time to target tripletail.
Where do we leave from?
The majority of the year we leave from Keaton Beach, unless prior arrangements are made. I frequently fish out of Suwannee, Horseshoe Beach, Steinhatchee, Keaton Beach, Spring Warrior, Fenholloway River, Econfina River, and Aucilla River.
Is there a bathroom?
We do not have a bathroom on the boat. We do keep a bucket if needed.
